The old "finished" collection
About the quotes:
1.) I don't own any of the quotes in my collection (unless stated otherwise);
2.) Credit is given if the ORIGINAL author of the quote is known;
3.) Even if they are racist, sexist, etc. there is no offense intended; They are made strictly with entertaining purposes;
4.) I don't own any (copyrights), so you can use them however you want them;
5.) Possibly there are some grammar mistakes and it would be much appreciated, if you notice them, to let me know, so I can fix them asap;
Even if they are racist, sexist, etc. there is no offense intended; They are made strictly with entertaining purposes;
well well. not sure if the subjects in such quotes can laugh too.
Illness, medication are just two
There is also age,
the older someone gets the less efficient they process food , therefore its easier to retain weight and harder to lose it
as its not as easy to do physical exercise, injuries can also limit this as well.
if you spend the vast majority of your time sitting at a desk getting little, to no exercise, or not enough to rise your heart rate up to do any good then you are going to gain weight
Diet of course also plays into the factor as well and income comes to play there as well, many who can't afford to buy more costly healthier food products are relegated to unhealthy products simply by lack of income and lack of choice in the matter.
Time constraints is another,
many people these days simply don't have the time to maintain a healthy life style, try working out when you spend 80 + hours of your week working at a job, it leaves very little time for much of anything in life let alone something as tasking a trying to loose weight.
So to say that these people are lazy and lack will power to do anything about is not always the case!
I do not condone obesity to any degree, it's a bad condition to be in at any point, it lead to all sorts of health issues
no one should have to be obese but it's here and until medical science, and social habits in general change it's going to be here.
As to the joke I reserve judgement as whether it's been done in bad taste or not.
I'm just commenting to all those below who whine:
Most people are fat by their own fault. It's extremly rare that an illness or a perscription drug make you gain weight, without you being able to influence it.
Sure, there are dispositions which are unfortunate and make it harder to lose weight, or to stay thin.
But almost everybody is able to do that, with enough willpower.
So quit defending or pitying them - they should feel ashamed on work on themselves.
I have high respect for someone actually working out, jogging etc, even if they may look ridiculous at the beginning, trying to lose weight. But I know that they will suceed if they only fight hard enough and don't give up.
But trying to tell them that they should stay the way they are - that is just wrong.
It's because there are things nobody wants to see.
No, I mostly don't care what others say or think. Just because others think something doesn't mean I should.
The "majority" is usually irrelevant.
Also, no, I would never attack someone for not being pretty, if they can't do anything about it.
If someone face is just... not beautiful, I rather try to help.
See, I try to fight for a more beautiful world.
But if someone does something that makes them ugly - then they deserve to have that pointed out.
And being obese is nobodys fault but the person themselves (okay - in 0.0001% there MIGHT be a factor that makes loosing weight more difficult... but not impossible).
Nobody cares for your stereotypes of beauty. Really. Nobody gives a DAMN if you think someone is beautiful or healthy or what not. Nobody wants to hear your statement about their body. It is none of your business whether you like to hear this or not. So stop telling people if you think they have to "work" on their beauty. Just stop it. It is annoying and encroaching and there are FAR better and more important things to fight for on this world. Such individual and superficial states like "beauty" simply don't count.
I don't even let my own family members talk about people this way in front of me. It lowers you. And it just pisses me off.
Well, unfortunately it doesn't matter if the insult is intended or not - racism, sexism or - in this case - fat shaming is nothing to laugh about. Such "jokes" are only funny when the one, you're joking about, can laugh about it, too. In this case, this is just mean stuff that is said to make someone feel bad. You know who does that? Bullies and idiots.
Im sure you didnt mean anything offensive with it though...I hope.
One time she burned her hand while removing some crappy pizza from the oven. At least she burned a few calories that day.
That would be another way to tell the joke. :3
Made my day!
